Welcome back to the Lore Archives. Today we're visiting a group that isn't going to show up for a while, so here's one to look forward to seeing in action down the road.
The Sun Imperium--the realm where Japan's disapora settled--has plenty of notable groups and individuals within its domain. Some are formal institutions, but the quintet of nobles that call themselves "The Joyful Autonomous Music Project" are not one of them- not officially. They often travel about the galaxy performing for audiences large and small alike. This group consists of nobles, four men and a woman, whose families are sufficiently large to allow them to spend most of their time doing informal cultural exchange as a means of diplomacy. Like Countess Gabriela Robin, they're musicians and are justly renown for their artistry. Most of their work--individually and collectively--is meant to be part of a larger dramatic or comedic work such as a musical revue.
What is strictly hidden is their actual purpose, which is to be a covert trouble-shooting team for the Imperium's throne. In this capacity, they assume fully-covered armored costumed identities and engage in whatever covert action is required of them. By these means do they conceal both their true skill as well as their capability to act, as few suspect these dandies and debutantes to be spies. Their possession of technology similar to what the Star Knights possess regarding their armored costumes allows them to move undetected from place to place.
Their armored costumes, following a pre-Cataclysm example, resemble the bird men of ancient Japan's mythology with variation by specific bird type and their martial skills often involve unconventional weapons that one can easily dismiss as toys or fashion accessories- if seen at all. This is complimentary to the conventional weapons that their status in society expects of them. While uncommon due to their usual mission profile, they do have access to specialized vehicles and mecha as necessary, and their team-focused training amplifies their effectiveness in the field.
Sometimes five, sometimes one, always present in the media culture of the Imperium, and famous from one end to the other they come forth singing songs of love and heroism to defend their people from the evils that threaten the Children of Amaterasu- be they the monsters without, the traitors within, or the rivals next door.
