Commentary:

The ability for TradPub to fulfill any function other than Death Cult culture jamming is gone. One key function is promotion.

Authors must once more become shameless in promoting their own work. Authors are notorious bad at doing this, and many dislike doing so, but do not share this reluctance with those of friends and colleagues.

I suggest, therefore, that a good way to learn-by-doing when it comes to marketing, promotion, and sales is to sell your friends' and colleagues' work.

Once you get comfortable, and competent, then you'll find it easy to promote your own work.
